Tired of spending all that extra money on high priced creamers? There are ways to make it at home that can allow a great variety at a very low price. You can create many combinations and varieties.

The basic ingredients used in making your own personal creamy liquid creamer are as follows:

One can of sweetened condensed milk (if this is too sweet for personal tastes, evaporated milk can be used and sweetened to taste with sugar or sugar alternatives.)

1 1/2 cup non-fat milk

These two basic ingredients are all you need to use as a base and the flavors that can be created from that point are many. Put the base ingredients in a jar that you can shake and pour from. You could also clean out your old creamer containers and use those just as well.

Here are some suggestions and you may even have some of the ingredients hanging around in your kitchen.

  • Chocolate Truffle Mint is the base plus 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon peppermint extract.
  • Amaretto is the base plus 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
  • Vanilla is the base plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • Chocolate Almond is the base plus 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 1 teaspoon almond extract.
  • Caramel is the base plus 2 tablespoons of caramel ice cream topping.

Taking a trip down the baking isle can lead you to many flavorful extracts. Collect them all, bring them home and make your own concoction.

Your imagination is the only limitation to the mixes you can design.

If this sounds too tough another fun idea is a little dollop of ice cream. Whatever flavor you have in the freezer is bound to be an interesting choice.

For those who prefer powder mixes we can do that as well. The base ingredients for the powder mix are as follows:

  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup powdered milk
  • 1/4 sugar

Grind the rice down in the food processor or blender to a powder and mix the ingredients. The rice gives it that smooth texture you are looking for.

If you want to spice it up go the spice rack and have a ball. Try all sorts or seasons and create your own morning routine.

You can purchase the plain versions in powder form, add some hot water and doctor them up.

There is no reason to begin your morning with a cup of boring black coffee if that is not your thing. There are many options. Although we don’t want to criticize those who think a big cup of plain black Joe is the only way to go.
